New Directions Substance Abuse Outpatient Clinic

Summary of Responsibilities:
Provides general administrative and clerical support to the Department including reception coverage, data entry, filing and maintenance of documents and records. Responds to internal and external inquiries. Ensures professional standards are implemented and maintained. Check patients in and out of the clinic. Run daily reports and sign in sheets. Handles multi line telephone system and other office equipment. Performs coverage and back up duties for other office support staff as needed between the 2 clinic locations.
Qualifications/Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred in Secretarial/Administrative Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of secretarial/clerical experience required, preferably in a non-profit/community based or Behavioral Health setting.
•Requires bilingual English/Spanish oral and written communication skills; experience coordinating presentations, meetings and related special events is a plus.
•Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
•Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills; be attentive to details; have strong analytical and problem solving skills; and ability to manage multiple priorities.
•Experience working in setting with diverse individuals both internal and external.
• Requires proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook; and experience managing data base systems and preparing reports, and related communications.
•Must maintain a high level of confidentiality for all items of a sensitive nature.
•Experience training and supervising volunteers/Interns is a plus.
•Requires the physical health and capability to work in a Behavioral Health office setting.
•Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License, and access to reliable transportation.
