Q: What is the length of the program?
A: REOC offers a progressive NYS accredited program that includes the required 1000 hours of Cosmetology instruction and additional 104 hours of career and skills course work. The program begins in June and graduation is in May of the following year. The program schedule begins with sessions from June to August Monday –Thursday 9 am – 2 pm. The fall through spring sessions are Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
Q: What is the cost of the course?
A: The course is tuition-free* and each student is responsible for their own textbooks and practical supplies.
Q: What makes REOC’s program unique?
A: We have one course offering per year, our teacher to student ratio is 1 to 10 (20 is our class size), instructors are State Board Examiner and versed in multi-cultural techniques of hair styling. The theory and practical course work can be offered in Spanish and there is not tuition cost. Students are involved in center- wide designed support from staff and faculty to prepare them for career success and live long learning.
Q: What will I learn?
A: Our goal is to prepare every student with the fundamental tools necessary to successfully pass the NYS Cosmetology licensure examinations and attain gainful employment. The instruction involves a variety of teaching methods including rigorous theory assessments, hands-on applications, workshops and team presentations. Q: What is the graduation/passing of the State Boards rate? Of retained students 100% graduate and 90% of our students successfully pass the State Board within first attempt.
