About This Program

The primary role of a Pharmacy Technician is to dispense and prepare medications. The role has been expanding in recent years to incorporate many more practices, such as aseptic preparation of medication, compounding, performing dosage calculations, and much more. This is all done in a variety of pharmaceutical settings, which include but are not limited to:

  • community pharmacies
  • hospital pharmacies
  • mail order operations
  • long-term care
  • managed care, and
    home care settings

REOC Pharmacy Technician Training Program Receives ASHP/ACPE Accreditation Status

ASHP/ACPE Accreditation
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)/Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) is the only nationally-recognized, non-governmental, non-profit pharmacy association that accredits pharmacy residencies and pharmacy technician training programs in the United States. The accreditation ensures standardization in training and a peer review process to enhance the pharmacy technician’s role in patient safety.
