General Worker

Description

This is an entry level position, providing maintenance and production support in a busy manufacturing environment. The General Worker position is intended as a first-step, introductory role into operations, with potential growth opportunity within the Pressroom Department.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain and refill chemicals
• Take out garbage
• Set all machines up with needed materials (stock, ink, coating, etc.)
• Throw paper
• Prepare loads that need to ship flat
• Review schedule for changes and set machines up accordingly
• Help presses washup and change over
• Organize and clean floor
• Maintain, clean, and organize Digital Pressroom
• Help press operators as needed with various tasks
• Maintain, clean, and organize coating and blanket room
• Inspect and operate all material handling equipment
• Maintain cooperative working relationship with supervisors
• Demonstrate ability to tactfully handle difficult situations
• Consistently show ability to recognize and deal with priorities
• Perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision
• Take initiative to recognize and perform duties as needed, even if they are not assigned
• Any other duties, as assigned

Requirements/Physical Demands:

• Standing, and/or walking for minimum eight hours per day
• Regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs.
• Regularly required to push and/or pull 200lbs+
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb
• Regularly required to talk and/or hear, see, and perform repetitive motion
• Required to see color and use depth perception

Requirement/Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in a Manufacturing setting
• Mechanical ability
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to multitask
