REOC Announces ATTAIN Achievement Award Winners
The Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC) recognized two REOC ATTAIN lab participants who have achieved success through their hard work and dedication. REOC ATTAIN Lab Technology Coordinators, Sam Casanzio and Jason Carroll, nominated Ms. LaQuinda Carraway and Mr. Christopher Holloway for ATTAIN Achievement awards.Ms. Carraway previously worked for the Rochester City School District and then in the business sector
Ms. Carraway previously worked for the Rochester City School District and then in the business sector for many years. Several years ago she found herself out of work and looking for a new job. She knew she needed to improve her computer skills to make her more marketable in her job search. She was referred to REOC’s ATTAIN Lab in the summer of 2016 and spent several hours each week diligently working on computer skills. In the fall of 2016 Ms. Carraway obtained a position with the Rochester City School District at her first interview. Ms. Carraway said that because of the confidence she gained in the REOC ATTAIN Lab she has a job she loves and now recognizes her educational competence. She is on her way to pursuing her Master’s Degree in business.Mr. Holloway is a student in the REOC Cosmetology program. In addition to accomplishing the

In addition to accomplishing the Instructional Systems Software (ISI) requirements necessary for his program, Mr. Holloway also has successfully completed his Microsoft® 2013 Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access certifications. His goal is to achieve a Microsoft® Technology Associate (MTA) certification. He is currently on target to complete the REOC Cosmetology program in May of 2017, and he ultimately would like to open his own business.
