The Rochester Integrated SUNY Excels (RISE) Network provides a framework for underprepared and at-risk individuals in order to facilitate access and completion at two- and four-year colleges. The RISE Network aligns and connects the expertise, programs and services of SUNY’s Rochester-based institutions: REOC’s college preparation and community outreach programs, MCC’s Damon City Campus and Transitional Studies Department, The College at Brockport’s Institute for Poverty Studies, and The College at Brockport’s Economic Development and School of Education and Human Services faculty and students. Targeted intervention strategies and program implementation directed to align with community needs will:
- provide college preparation through academic services and tutoring.
- deliver support through case management, counseling, family engagement, and wrap-around services to strengthen life skills.
- provide pathways with the goal of four-year degree completions. These pathways are jointly created through a ‘degree-in-place’ initiative at downtown Rochester SUNY facilities.
